Agenda for 2007-2008
- Work with Deans to set up open office hours for students. Visit the Student Affairs Deans Office Hours page.
- Increase student-faculty interactions through a team-bonding social event
- Change the OSAF website to make it more user friendly, allowing students to use key words to search for clubs and organizations.
- Work with the community service center and the Duke-Durham partnership to create a calendar with activities taking place on and off campus and provide incentives for students to host events open to other Durham citizens
- Improving communication among DSG senators and the student body through the DSGCONNECT project.
- Working to increase the visibility of all campus wide elections with the aim of increasing the diversity of the Presidential Committees, The Judiciary Committee, Duke Student Government, etc.
- Including and soliciting ideas from student groups about the issues addressed by DSG.
- Keep the Duke Excellence Program
- Work with Campus Council and the RC’s to post with permission residential staff workers photos and bios in dormitories to facilitate friendly relationships between students and residential staff
- Increasing Duke’s partnerships and the accessibility of off campus service opportunities, internships, and entertainment venues for students.
- Increase the openness of the Duke-Durham Partnership to student volunteers
- Provide carpooling lists or Duke subsidized vans to off campus service locations
- Review the efficacy of the changes made to the Young Trustee Selection process this past year
- Re-evaluate the bylaws for the entire process to ensure fairness and efficiency in the entire process
- Increase advertising and making the effort to approach student groups about encouraging all students to apply
- Address the concern regarding the weight of the ICC vote versus the DSG vote through an open forum, obligatory for members of the ICC and DSG and open to all other students.
