There are several ways you can get involved with the Duke Student Government. The two main ways are by directly joining the organization as a senator or as a cabinet member, or by applying to serve on a Presidential, University or Trustee Committee to which we appoint members. We will keep this section updated with opportunities as they arise throughout the year.

DSG At-Large Senators

Thank you for your interest in becoming an at-large senator. At-large senators have the same responsibility as elected senators in legislative sessions and are responsible for carrying out individual projects. We hope to see you on the Senate floor this spring.

How to Apply At Large Senator Application

• The application must be returned to the DSG office no later than 8:00pm on Friday, September 18th. Please also send an electronic copy of your application to gsm8@duke.edu. No late petitions will be accepted.
• Interviews will take place on Sunday January 18th, September 20th from 4:00-7:00 PM 009.
• Please e-mail DSG Executive Vice President at gsm8@duke.edu with any questions.
