Project Name: Social Entrepreneur Program Development
The goal of our project is to help create a program through the Community Service Center that would provide guidance and networking to social entrepreneurs who are working on starting their own community service projects or initiatives.
The group of students who will be working on the project is currently getting organized and working on setting up meetings with both social entrepreneurs and representatives from the Community Service Center.
Anyone who is interested learning more about our project or getting involved can feel free to email me at clark.hitch@duke.edu. We welcome comments or suggestions.

My project for this semester is improving the quantity of student art displayed around campus, both inside buildings and outdoors. I plan to aid the development and maintenance of current student art displays, such as in the Bryan Center and in the room outside the Gothic Reading room. My primary focus, however, will be to set up a display outdoors, preferably on the plaza, of student sculptures or weather-proof art. This endeavor might entail creating a display case that work will go inside of, as opposed to merely free standing piece, depending on the type of art available. To accomplish these goals I will work with the visual arts commitee and other organizations as are necessary. Any student input, especially from artists who are interested in having their work on display, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Starting the week of October 29th, DSG VPs will be available to talk to students about any questions, suggestions, issues or concerns they may be having. The DSG VP would love to hear anything anyone has to say, and something that makes voicing your opinion even better is that smoothies and beverages from Alpine Atrium are on us! So come, enjoy a smoothie & express your voice. Be a SMOOTH(ie) talker.

I am striving to bring 24/7 nurse coverage to the East Campus Wellness Center because it is frustrating to get sick or have a minor injury on the weekend and not having it be able to be tended to unless one goes all the way over to West Campus, a particularly difficult task on weekends when the buses come once every twenty minutes. However as this is a daunting project since it involves hiring new personnel and etc., I am willing to compromise for just extended hours.
In addition, I am also the new DSG liaison for Student Health and thus welcome any suggestions or complaints about anything to do with this field and I promise I will do my best to bring about changes that will benefit the student body.
