About Us
Major Speakers is a student run committee that works to bring interesting and exciting speakers to campus. In the past, we have brought Amy Tan, Mo Rocca, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Nick Hornby, Maryann DeLeo and John Waters. Our committee meetings are Tuesdays at 8:15 pm in OSAF. Please feel free to join!
Up Next...
Our next speaker is Laura Sessions Stepp in White Auditorium (East Campus) Tuesday October 30 at 7pm.
Laura Sessions Stepp is a columnist for the Washington Post and is the author of Unhooked: How Young Women Pursue Sex, Delay Love and Lose at Both. During her research for the book, Laura Stepp spent part of 2005 at Duke University conversing with different female students and attending classes and parties to try to learn how female sexuality is evolving in a "hook up" culture. She will have a book signing at the Regulator Bookshop on 9th Street October 30 from 4:00-5:30pm as well as after her talk in White Auditorium. This event is cosponsored by the Political Science Department at Duke University.
